Our Objectives

At De Providence Bridge Food Bank Initiatives, our mission is driven by a comprehensive set of objectives designed to address hunger, malnutrition, and poverty in a sustainable and impactful way:

  • Combat malnutrition in children under five, and improve the nutritional intake of pregnant and lactating mothers.
  • Enhance food security at both household and community levels, ensuring consistent access to safe, nutritious, and sufficient food.
  • Encourage lifestyle habits and practices that lower malnutrition rates and promote better health among beneficiaries.
  • Promote the consumption of indigenous, healthy food options among women and children in rural communities.
  • Strengthen caregiving practices at home, especially for child feeding and maternal wellness.
  • Build the capacity of Primary Healthcare Centers to address nutrition-related challenges in underserved communities and raise public awareness on the root causes and solutions to malnutrition.
  • Minimize food waste by advocating for sustainable food conservation and redistribution to those most in need.
  • End poverty and malnutrition by empowering local communities through family farming, agricultural development, and climate-resilient solutions.
  • Equip vulnerable populations with practical skills and job opportunities to help them achieve food security and independence.
  • Serve as a frontline responder in emergencies and disasters by coordinating the delivery of food and essential relief materials.
  • Ensure continuous access to information and support for implementing appropriate emergency food programs.
  • Raise public awareness about the importance of good nutrition and healthy lifestyles, and encourage donations of food, funds, and other resources.
  • Foster collaboration with like-minded NGOs and community groups to tackle hunger and poverty in Nigeria particularly and Africa in general.
